Los tiburones de esta especie viven muchísimos años. De hecho, son los animales vertebrados más longevos de todo el planeta. En 2016, un equipo de científicos daneses los estudió en profundidad, y llegó a la conclusión de que pueden vivir más de cuatro siglos.

Es increíble pensar la cantidad de tiempo que este tiburón ha estado ahí, nadando en las profundidades del océano, ajeno a los conflictos y las preocupaciones de los hombres.
